Overview
The Health Systems Advisor I/II collaborates with other Health Systems staff to strengthen comprehensive abortion care service delivery through facility upgrades, provider trainings, trainee mentorship and data collection for program and donor reporting. The role provides technical and project management assistance in planning and implementing training, logistical support, and service delivery strategies for expanding access to safe abortion and contraceptive services. The position also participates in project proposal development, developing regional plans, and ensuring that planned project activities are implemented. The position collaborates with other departments to develop technical studies, conducts facility and provider-based supportive supervision, ensures necessary supplies are available to provide services at facility level, ensures data is collected from all intervention facilities and trainings, analyzes data, and develops reports. The position will also be tasked with designing and implementing service delivery quality improvement in collaboration with relevant district health staff.
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in technical or clinical a related field
3-4 years of experience working in health or medical field, including 2 years as a clinical provider or trainer with a non-profit/government
Outstanding interpersonal communications skills and excellent organizational and planning skills
Strong team player; must work well in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to travel 25%
Preferred
Advanced degree in technical or clinical related field
Experience in delivering sexual reproductive health related training
2 years budget and project management with an NGO/INGO
Good level of English language skills
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities
- Provides technical and project management support to Ipas ́ Health Systems Unit, including planning and managing facility assessments and upgrades, delivering comprehensive abortion care training, and overseeing the mentorship program and routine site monitoring;
- Identifies appropriate facilities, determines training needs, and develops agendas, training materials and presentations on comprehensive abortion care training, selecting and managing trainers and facilities and conducting training;
- Participates in the development of curriculum with the assistance of external stakeholders
- Monitors training data, oversees and ensures accuracy of data collection, maintains up-to-date database of trainers and participants, and ensures best practices are being implemented to improve performance;
- Supports outside organizations to advance advocacy efforts;
- Drafts training/workshop reports for review and dissemination to document progress
- Supports the development of donor proposals, presentations, and reports as required;
- Forecasts expenditures and assists with budgeting and monitoring of expenses as required;
- Prepares and make HS related presentations in national and international conferences and other forums
- Reports to the Senior Health Systems Advisor in reference to workflow, deadlines, reports, and projects
- Maintains relationships with regional service facilities and other non-profits/government official in-country as necessary
- Works with senior advisors, managers, directors, and other departments in reference to reports, planning, policies, and procedures
